Fuerteventura nombre

Antes de la conquista, y el topónimo que se recoge en el libro Le Canarien, es el de Erbania o Herbania:
-Podría significar pared/ muro. En lengua bereber erbania significa muro, muro que fue levantado por los aborígenes en el istmo que dividía la isla en dos partes, al norte Maxorata y al sur Jandía.
- Erbania también podría significar 'rica en cabras', a partir del bereber arban 'macho cabrío', por lo que el nombre de Erbania y el de Capraria (nombre de los expedicionarios de Juba), vienen a significar lo mismo, cabras.
-La isla fue conocida por griegos, romanos y fenicios, que la denominaban: Planaria debido a la ausencia de zonas muy elevadas; y Capraria (ya mencionado antes).
En 1402 comienza la conquista de la isla cuando, Jean de Bethencourt atraca en las costas de Fuerteventura. En ese año, la isla majorera aparece por primera vez en un mapa, situándola bajo el nombre de Forte Ventura.
Aunque el significado de Forte queda bastante claro (fuerte), hay dudas con lo que puede significar Ventura (bien aventura, o bien vientos).

Before the conquest, and the toponym that is collected in the book Le Canarien, is that of Erbania or Herbania:
-It could mean wall. In the Berber language Erbania means wall, a wall that was built by the aborigines on the isthmus that divided the island into two parts, Maxorata to the north and Jandía to the south.
-Erbania could also mean 'rich in goats', from the Berber urban 'goat', so the names of Erbania and Capraria (name of the Juba expeditionaries), come to mean the same thing, goats.
-The island was known by the Greeks, Romans and Phoenicians, who called it: Planaria due to the absence of very high areas; and Capraria (already mentioned above).
In 1402 the conquest of the island began when Jean de Bethencourt docked on the coast of Fuerteventura. During that year, the island of Majorera appears for the first time on a map, placing it under the name of Forte Ventura.
Although the meaning of Forte is quite clearly (strong), there are doubts about what Ventura can mean (either adventure, or winds).
