El turismo en #Canarias nace cuando muchos enfermos pertenecientes a familiar ricas, viajan hasta las islas, las cuales eran “vendidas” por médicos nacionales e internacionales por poseer un clima suave todo el año, aire puro, que era ideal para tratar enfermedades respiratorias y de piel.
Entre estas enfermedades estaban tuberculosis, neumonía y bronquitis. Por esta razón, en la isla de #Tenerife se construyen varios sanatorios, para hospedar a estos visitantes.
Uno de ellos se construyó en Las Cañadas, en el que hoy en día quedan alguna propiedad privada conocida como El Sanatorio. No existe este edificio original, pero si unas casetas construidas entre los 30 y 40 del siglo pasado en el mismo lugar.
De todas formas, se desecha en parte la idea de hospedar enfermos en estas cotas por el descenso tan brusco de las temperaturas por la noche y es elegido el #Puertodelacruz como lugar ideal para ello, pero hablaremos más adelante.
Con los avances médicos para la cura de estas enfermedades, y el hecho de ser Las Cañadas declaradas Parque Nacional, han hecho que se frenasen muchas actuaciones insostenibles en la zona.
También, se dice que las construcciones que vemos son la casa del médico y servicios, quedando paralizada la obra sin llegar a construirse las estancias de los enfermos.
