El número de semillas es 10 veces mayor que el de la retama.
Durante la primavera se llena de pequeñas flores amarilla y al secarse parece paja (de ahí el nombre).
Se ha sabido adaptar al clima de alta montaña de esta zona de Tenerife, creando su propio microclima en su interior que le ayuda a suavizar las duras condiciones de humedad y temperatura.

The pajonera herb (Descurainia bourgaeana) is an endemism found in the Cañadas del Teide in Tenerife and La Palma.
The number of seeds is 10 times greater than that of the broom.
During the spring it is filled with small yellow flowers and when dried it looks like straw (hence the name).
It has been adapted to the high mountain climate of this area of Tenerife, creating its own microclimate inside that helps to soften the harsh conditions of humidity and temperature.
