Area Information

We are in El Parque Nacional de las Cañadas del Teide. The particularity of this path, is that this zone has a historical importance, since it was a zone of extraction of pumice, and it was a zone of loading platform of fuelwood of the brooms too.

Along the tour, several of the most representative vegetable species of the bushes of high mountain canary are observed , since it can be Retama del Teide (Spartocytisus supranubius).

Description of the path 

The drop of the path

We are in the path number 30 of the national park of the Teide. We begin rightly in the viewing-point of The Mines of San Jose, and this one descends up to Siete Cañadas. 

To come to the zone, we take the road TF-21 (for La Orotava or for Vilaflor); TF-24 (for La Laguna); and TF-38 (Boca Tauce-Chío). We can take different means of Transport, as the Bus (from Puerto de la Cruz  is the line 348, and from Costa Adeje, line 342). Also, we can go in the car, having a zone of parking in the viewing-point just the one that begins the path. In the same zone, we find several informative local bills.

Path

The path is not to circulate, for what about having come to Siete Cañadas  we move back to the same path, to come to the zone of the parking.

We begin, since it has been said, in the viewing-point of the mines of San Jose and finish in front of La Cañada de la Pila (one of Siete Cañadas). At this point it is possible to take for Siete Cañadas and ends it El Parador, or in the visitors' center. But in this case it was chosen to return to the same point of the beginning. 

Flora

It does not have difficulty, the first section is flat, then we start descending. Bearing in mind that in the return we need more time cause  it is necessary to raise it.

The path is well flagged, not only for the number of paths, but also for the signs that stones are formed in the soil.

Views

To remember, that on having been in Las Cañadas there are not shade, so solar protection and waters are necessarily. It is a zone of the hunt, being closed some days in the season of the hunt (there are signs that indicate that days). At first it is the epoch of flowering, as what it is necessary to have care with the bees.
